![]() ![]() I just listen to it on repeat over and over and over. The line 'everything she never had, shes showing off' to me means that she doesnt have much, but shes pretending like she does. Can anyone verify that the lyrics listed above are correct? I admit that an argument can easily be made for the "wave" lyric as well, but it just seems to me that "way" is more fitting for the song. Night Changes is about a girl whos life has been hard. ![]() Unfortunately, I didn't buy a physical copy of this album, but rather obtained it via digital download, so I don't know if the lyrics are included in the liner notes of the CD. I think the full phrase is "caught between the cold and the way my heart beats up again." In other words, she feels caught between the fact that there is no longer a burning fire of love that she feels for her significant other, and yet as soon as she breaks off the relationship her heart "beats up again," because she suddenly realizes that she is alone, and that she misses the person she just broke up with. My OpinionAre we sure that it says "caught between the cold and the wave?" It sounds like it is "caught between the cold and the way" which makes much more sense to me when coupled with the next phrase. No more drifting in the cold and lonely night I thought I'd hidden all the holes and all the cracksĬan you raise me, lift me up from the ground ![]()
